Create a Form

Go to Forms editor and click on ‘Add item’. It will display a wide range of items. Before designing your form layout, write down the kind of information you require on a paper. The ‘Choose from a list’ and ‘Multiple Choice’ items are useful in collecting information.
You should make use of text boxes for collecting details like name, phone number and email. In case you are collecting information while you are in a meeting or an event, you must keep the data collection simple. It will take very less time to fill out a form.
Choose a Theme
It is easy to collect data with the help of a Google Form than doing it on a spreadsheet. You must use background themes to enhance the functionality of the form.
Select ‘Theme’. This will display more than 100 themes. Simply choose one theme from this collection. If you cannot find a theme that suits your club or organization, go for a graphic free form. A theme can also be changed. Simply click on ‘Apply’. However, there is no method available to add your own image or background.
Publish The Form
The Google Form editor has an assigned URL at its bottom. Simply click on it to view your form. The form can also be embedded into your website. However, in this article, our focus remains on using the form to collect contact details during a meeting or an event.
You need to go to Documents folder. Go to Docs menu and click on the form title. There is a spreadsheet in the form. Go to menu bar and click on ‘Form’. You can now view, edit, send and embed your form into a website. .
You can re-open the form by clicking ‘Go to live form’. You can also open the form on any mobile device by using a 3G connection or Wi-Fi. You only need to send the URL on the devices and open it. You can use the form on multiple devices.
Use the Spreadsheet
The data is saved in a spreadsheet by Google Forms so that it can be exported in the form of a CSV file. It can also be imported into an Address Book. You can save or print it as a PDF. It can be used in OpenOffice too.
